What is Reiki Energy?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing though transmission of Reiki energy. When translated, the word is made up of two words: “Rei” which means “God Conscious” and “Ki” which means “life energy”.

It is easy to understand Reiki energy and how the process of Reiki energy can be effective for your wellness and spirituality. Think back to when you were a young child. Can you remember a time when you fell, skid on the ground and skinned your knee? You know what I mean, that scrape that made a rug burn feel like a love tap. It stung so bad you were sure you’d have to be hospitalized. And then the sight of blood streaming out of what seemed like 100 scrapes across your knee, caused panic in your mind. You were crying so hard, you might have even been screaming, and then your mom came running to your rescue.

She held you in her arms and said, “Let me kiss it, then it will be all better.” And she kissed it and it worked. You stopped crying and somehow that kiss miraculously took the pain away. When you looked at the blood again, it did not seem to be streaming anymore and there were only about a dozen scrapes, not the 100 you saw originally. Wow, you thought, mom is amazing, a great healer and you were right.

She is among the world’s best healers, because she heals through unconditional love. She uses the love she has for you and the Reiki energy she was born with and God works right through her. She acts as a vessel for the God Conscious Life Energy that comes through her, to you, from our Creator. She can do all of this because she loves you.

All of the panic and stress that you felt that day was released immediately from her kiss and you were more comfortable and relaxed because of her love. That allowed you to open yourself up to be pain free and for the healing to start. That is how Reiki Energy works.
